Improve your dogs health with this nutritious addition.
Bone broth is a fantastic way to enhance your dogs diet. It is effective for dogs that are fussy eaters, find their meal unappetising or are unwell. Bone Broth will extract the collagen, gelatin and minerals out of the bones and tissue, making it a nutritious addition to your pets existing diet.
Here are four benefits of bone broth for your pet -
- Improves joint health
- Promotes good gut health
- Helps the liver detox
- Provides nutrients for an unwell dog, helping them recover
What’s better - bone broth is also beneficial for us! Here is a pet and hooman friendly chicken broth recipe -

- Water (Filtered is preferred)
- Apple Cider Vinegar
*There is a misconception that garlic is toxic. It is toxic in high dosage but in fact, promotes liver and immune health, fights off infection, fleas and ticks and lowers cholesterol.
Here are the guidelines for garlic:
- Up to 7kg – ½ a close
- 7kg – 18kg – 1 clove
- 18kg – 30kg – 2 cloves
- 30kg – 40kg – 2 ½ cloves
- 40kg or more – 3 cloves
Place this altogether in a pot or pressure cooker. The water should just be above the ingredients. Add only a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. In a pot, let it simmer for up to 72 hours. In the pressure cooker, this can be completed in 2-3 hours. You can serve when chilled, or place in the fridge overnight.
Bone broth is nutritionally packed, but does not make a balanced, nutritious diet for your pet; add this either as an additional meal to your pets diet or as a base of an existing meal. As always, feed in moderation.
